Our Family of Offices

The Office of the Chief Information Officer at HHS serves as the collaborative hub for a closely integrated family of offices to include, the Office of Information Security (OIS), Office of IT Operations (OPS), HR IT Modernization (HRIT), and home of the Chief Data Officer and Chief AI Officer. Together, these offices form a unified and mission-driven enterprise, working seamlessly to drive innovation, safeguard information, and advance strategic technology initiatives across HHS.

This “family” approach fosters a culture of collaboration, efficiency, and shared purpose—ensuring that enterprise-level technology efforts are coordinated, forward-looking, and aligned with the Department’s broader mission to improve the health and well-being of the American people

HHS Cyber safeguards the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ vital mission by protecting its information systems, data, and technology infrastructure.
